I think at some point or another we've all found ourselves looking for a change in our personal style. Maybe not a major change, but something small to shake up the familiar reflections we've grown so accustomed to. Last week, this month's winner Jocelyn came in for her makeover. A regular of Chelsey's, we were excited to have her in the chair for more than her routine upkeep. Chelsey takes care of Jocelyn's cuts and color and typically straightens it to finish. This time though, they decided on an updated tousled wave to refresh her typical style. As she had her hair styled, Jocelyn and I chatted about her usual makeup and what she wanted for her makeover that day. Jocelyn noted that her day to day look is pretty simple, but she definitely likes to showcase her eyes for a night out or special event. She trusted me with her overall makeup, hoping to see a new take on her go-to look.

Where are you from?
I am born and raised in Buffalo!!
Tell us a little about yourself & why you wanted this makeover
I'm a single, hard working mom with the most energetic 8 year old!!! She keeps me feeling young! I have AMAZING friends and family! Without them I don't know if I could be where I am today!
Who are your style or beauty icons?
I love fashion, but I'm sometimes afraid to step outside my comfort zones. My favorite fashion icon is Kourtney Kardashian, I know I know the Kardashians 👎🏻 BUT I love their bold looks! I'm also an old soul and LOVE Diane Keaton and Meryl Streep's fun spunky style!! I have many styles I enjoy! I can go on and on about fashion icons!!
What is something, or a few things, you like about yourself?
What I like about myself? That's tough because I think women are so hard on themselves and critique their bodies and images so much! I am so guilty of it! BUT, I have to say I love my eyes! And I love my laugh! I could laugh for days and days and never get sick of it! It's loud, but I'm a loud person and that's just me!!
Have you ever had any funny fashion or beauty faux pas? Like, shaving off your eyebrows or too much eyeliner, etc.
I am so guilty of shaving off my eyebrows and plucking them so much they kind of disappeared LOL!!!
How do you feel after your makeover?
I loved my makeup and hair! I felt like a celebrity getting all that glam done! It was so much fun!
Do you have any personal daily mantras or affirmations you’d like to share?
One daily mantra and or affirmation I could send out to the world would be... Believe in yourself, surround yourself with happy, positive people and start living positive. Soon enough, the rest will fall into place!
